About the Artist: Mary Magiskan currently resides in Thunder Bay, Ontario which is on the traditional land of Anemki Wajiw more commonly known as Fort William First Nation. Her family comes from Aroland First Nation, a small reserve north east of Thunder Bay in treaty 9 territory. Throughout Mary&&’;;s life she has always been inspired by the traditional anishinaabe lifestyle that her grandparents lived by such as hunting, fishing, trapping and living off the land. Mary continues to create as a way to connect to her family&&’;;s original anishinaabe way of life.
